Committee on Government Operations, Veterans Affairs and Consumer Protection
The Committee on Government Operations, Veterans Affairs, and Consumer Protection has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Frits E. Lawaetz Legislative Conference Room on St. Croix., U.S. Virgin Islands to provide updates on the following agencies and consideration of the following bills:
BLOCK I 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
The Committee will receive a comprehensive overview from charters being impacted by the BVI’s newly implemented charter vessel licensing fees and all other information pertinent to the discussion, including but not limited to, the following:
- How these new charter fees are impacting their operations
- What challenges they are currently facing or anticipate in the near future
- What practical solutions, policy adjustments, or forms of support the Legislature can pursue to help
stabilize and strengthen the marine economy across the Territory
