Angel L. Bolques Jr. Senator-at-Large, was born on the Island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands to parents Angel L. Bolques Sr. of St. Croix and Patricia Powell-Mitchell of St. John. He is the proud father of four children and is married to Mrs. Melisa Bolques. As a young child Angel or Junjun as he was affectionately called, grew up in the Peters Rest neighborhood of St. Croix where he enjoyed playing with his siblings and neighborhood friends from dusk till dawn, or as the elders would say, “When streetlight come on, geh in deh house.”

His educational journey began in kindergarten at the Lew Muckle Elementary School on St. Croix until the age of seven, he continued his educational trajectory on the Island of St. John where he lived with his mother and siblings while attending the Guy Benjamin Elementary School in Coral Bay and then the Julius E. Sprauve School in Cruz Bay. He would later attend and graduate from the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School on St. Thomas. Mr. Bolques Jr. has studied Business Administration (A.I.U.), and Graphic Arts (Design & Applied Arts), and holds several certifications including The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (C.A.S.E.) Fundamentals of Economics Course through an employee enhancement program at Gifft Hill School where he taught Computer Technology and Spanish. 

Senator Bolques Jr. has served in various capacities throughout his professional career including but not limited to; Legislative Researcher, Member of the U.S.V.I. Board of Education, National Committeeman of the Democratic Party of the Virgin Islands, Administrative Assistant to the Board of Elections and was named “2016 Government Employee of the Year”, Revenue Manage, Purchasing/Inventory Control Assistant Manager, Administrator and Computer Technology Teacher at the Gift Hill School on St. John, as a Graphic Arts Designer, and current Board member of several 501c3 organizations such as Community Action NOW, RAS Events Inc., and several Democratic Clubs throughout the Virgin Islands.

As Senator-at-Large, Angel’s focus moving forward is on Economic Development, Small Business Expansion, Food Autonomy-Security for the territory, Technological Advancements, and more Affordable Housing Opportunities for Low-Income and Middle-Income Virgin Islanders. Senator-At-Large Angel L. Bolques, Jr. currently serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Justice, and Public Safety, and he is also a member of the Senate Committees on Rules & Judiciary, Youth, Sports, Parks and Recreation and Housing, Transportation and Telecommunications.
