Senate President Novelle E. Francis, Jr. today offered his deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former Senator Lloyd L. Williams on behalf of the members of the 35th Legislature.
“Mr. Williams will be remembered for his committed service to the people of the Virgin Islands. His twelve years in the Legislature was informed from his early years as an activist to protect consumers and preserve locals’ access to beaches. He was well regarded by the community and his peers, and had the distinction of serving three times as the Majority Leader and once as the Minority Leader. Regardless of his role in the Legislature, he worked with everyone – always steadfast in his efforts to offer legislation that worked in the best interests of the community,” Francis stated.
“My colleagues and I are thankful for his leadership and service that paved the way for this and future generations of Virgin Islanders.”
