She delivered four balanced fiscal year budgets on time, with new revenue generating measures, without furthering new taxes on the people of the Virgin Islands.
In her eighth term Senator Hansen made a decision, to depart from what appeared to be, a most secured seat in the senate and instead decided to run for the Office of Governor of the Virgin Islands. That bid was unsuccessful. After a 9 year hiatus, she re-emerged once again, this time to the 29th legislature where she would serve two more terms.
This was the third time, Senator Alicia "Chucky" Hansen served as Liaison to the White House, chairing one of the most powerful legislative committees, The Government Operations Committee and Veterans Affairs, in the 29th Legislature, Vice- chair of Housing and Labor, a member of Rules and Judiciary, Human Services, Sports and Recreation, Economic Development and Agriculture.
